Without Bogu 防具*
1. Warm up exercise
2. 素振り Suburi exercise
3. Line up and meditation followed by 礼
4. Basic cutting and 足裁き・体裁き footwork/body movement using 木刀 wooden swords
5. 木刀による基本技稽古法 Basic techniques training methods with Bokuto (wooden sword)
形稽古 Kata practice (learning the logic through a series of pattern practice using wooden swords)
In Bogu 防具
6. 切り返し 11 consecutive cuts
7. 打ち込み Series of single or multiple cutting exercise
8. 追い込み稽古 Multiple cutting exercise with rapid footwork
9. 打ち込み稽古 Basic cuts where openings are indicated by 元立ち
10. 掛り稽古 Series of cuts continuously executed by 掛り手
11. 地稽古 Free fighting by seniors
12. Cool down exercise (stretching) without Bogu
13. Line up and meditation followed by 礼
* Beginners are to train without wearing Bogu for some periods in their respective course until they are ready to do so.
